Diane desires men as much as she despises them. When she learns that her mother was raped in her youth, the shock is muffled. It’s a surprise—and yet, it explains everything. Diane has only one thing on her mind: avenging her mother. But her mother has only one thing on her mind: finally becoming the woman she should have been.
